Summary: (from Goodreads)
Could you survive on your own, in the wild, with every one out to make sure you don't live to see the morning?
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to dead before—and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that will weigh survival against humanity and life against love.

I can't even beginning to tell how much I love this book. I had heard a lot about it but had never sat down and read it, well when I did, whoosh, blew me away.  I love the characters so much, I feel like I'm friends with them.  Ahh! Love Katniss and Peeta so much. Team Peeta all the way.The beginning is sort of slow, but its worth it once you get to the Reaping because after that its is very difficult to put down.  I just can't wait for Mockingjay to come out. 6 days!!!!

  1. I love this book. Catching Fire (the sequel) is even better in my opinion. You're lucky that you read this one so close to Mockingjay's release date. I had to wait for what feels like forever :)

  2. Hey - just hoppin' by! I started the hop on Friday, but had to leave, just now getting back to it. Hope you had a great weekend! Stop by The Wormhole and say hi!
